Pink Feather Foundation to host Open House and Ribbon Cutting at new Oxford HQ

Jun 5, 2026

Oxford, MAINE — Pink Feather Foundation, a nonprofit organization serving teachers and students in MSAD 17 and RSU 16, is officially cutting the ribbon on their brand-new facility Friday, June 12, 2026 at 4:30 PM at 65 King Street in Oxford, Maine.

“This new space isn't just a building— it’s a place where Pink Feather can continue serving teachers and students in our communities and expand our reach, without interruption,” says Board Chair, Chris Delamater.

The building is a testament to community generosity and determination. A coalition of community members, local contractors, suppliers, and banks stepped up to donate the land, labor, funds, and materials to build this “Forever Home” from the ground up. The new facility will provide permanent, vital space for donation processing, clothing storage, and packaging.

“We’re deeply grateful for the generous contributions that have brought this project to completion,” says Pink Feather Foundation co-founder, Jen Kyllonen.

Those contributions include:

  • The new building is located on a piece of land donated by an anonymous community member.

  • Dozens of community members, as well as every member of our board of directors, have made a financial contribution to the building fund.

  • Norway Savings Bank and Northeast Bank each contributed $10,000 when the project kicked off in 2025.

  • A number of local contractors have stepped up by donating materials, labor, and expertise—their commitment is the foundation of this project. Thank you to Bancroft Contracting, Bonang Concrete, Cray Construction, Flanders Electric, Maine Line Plumbing, Record Building Supply, Speedway Inc., Wallace Home Improvement, and Wight Construction.

The public and members of the media are invited to visit the headquarters as the Foundation celebrates the opening of their new space and honors the incredible volunteers and donors who made this milestone possible. Light refreshments will be provided. To add to the fun, anyone wearing pink will be entered to win an exclusive door prize!

Pink Feather Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization working to improve the lives of students by partnering with teachers to confidentially provide clothing and accessories at no cost. They envision all students having the clothing and accessories they need to be confident, engaged, and prepared to achieve their full potential.
